Standard C library like math.h. C++ Standard Library is much bigger than C Standard Library. Suppose you're writing a C program and want to open a file and read some data. The Standard Library is not part of the C Programming Language proper,but an environment that supports standard C will provide the function declarations and type and macro definitions of this library. It has very problematic copy semantics that make it difficult to use in several important scenarios. It contains useful functions though. Alas, auto_ptr isn't very smart. Where can I find the source for it? Before C++11, the only "smart" pointer available in the standard C++ library was auto_ptr. I kinda want to study the source. The obvious way to do this is to use the C stdio library, which isn't terribly well designed, but is at least standard. You can continue using the standard C library (as implemented for your target system) in both C and C++.
